Four Wisdoms -An Ethic For Everyday Life
James Bryer writes: Perhaps there is some truth to the notion that as we age we trade memory for wisdom. I know I'm losing memory. For the life of me, I can't remember how I first encountered the four rules for living discussed here. I was inspired, I know, by their profound and simple guidance, and how they help me orient myself as I deal with the complexities of life. I have difficulty remembering "The Four Noble Truths" or "The Four Agreements", but I'll never forget what I call "The Four Wisdoms": Show Up, Pay Attention, Tell the Truth, and Let Go of Outcome. For several years, I've thought about these virtues and have spoken of them frequently in my counseling practice. This booklet also contains the provocative and beautiful photographs of Kirk Lamb. |
